Daily Dose #26

Backyard Visitors

I love living out in the country. Every day brings something a little different and more interesting than the last. Don’t get me wrong, much of life is just a series of sameness. We wake up, get the kids ready and off to school while trying to get ourselves ready for the day, spend 8/9 hours in the sewing shop (or he may be out on a job for the day completely unrelated to shop business), go through the hectic of getting the kids after school and closing the shop at close to go home and have supper. After supper we feed/water the animals, and finally settle into going through our nightly routine only to begin again in the morning. Of course, there are some bumps in the day on most days, but we live a quiet life and enjoy our family in between all the sameness. When I say quiet, what I really mean is chaotic, but quiet to us….if that makes any sense.

The kiddos ride with me into town in the mornings and I drop them off at school before coming to the shop to begin my work day. On our drive into town, its still early enough to get a catch a beautiful sunrise. Sometimes, this can be challenging as it shines brightly into my eyes, darn-near blinding me!

Anywho, my point is living in the country brings something different almost every day. If you keep up with me, then you know we have a few animals. We are not a large ranch by any means (maybe one day), but we love what we do have and make the most of it all. Our animals include two miniature horses, a couple of cows, and six goats. We live on the same property as my in-laws and they have quite a few chickens.

Close to the main house, our property line is not to far from the back of the house. On the other side of this property line, the owner of that property has white cows…beautiful animals and they stay so clean! Every so often, we come home to find a couple of those beautiful animals wondering in our yard. It’s such a comical sight. I love it!

As I stated earlier, living in the country brings something new every day…I love the country life!
