A Conversation with the Hubby

the hubby and i have had thousands of conversations over the years.

every conversation with him i treasure even though the conversation may not always be fun.

like all married couples, daily conversations consist of kids, schedules (everyone in the house), bills, immediate needs and wants, upcoming plans, etc.

our conversations involve weather-related preparations, political happenings (i don’t enjoy these so much), dreams for our life (how we live, where we live, future living plans, etc),

we also have conversations about nothing in particular such as how beautiful the weather is/isn’t, something silly in his day or mine, etc., about the goats (i love the goats!), something that irritated us in the day, or whatever random thought pops into my head (i’m the more random thinker. he always has a ton of things on his mind.)

So, the other evening’s conversation:

“honey, if you could choose any period of time to live in, which would it be? i’ve always enjoyed the 1800’s time period. i love the dress during that time. i love the way of life and the expansion of America. i really do just enjoy everything about that time period. what about you?”

if i’m being honest, way of life and dress are my main focuses of that period!

Not much for silly conversation, he response, “yeah, me too. i’d probably choose that time period as well.”

Well gee, honey, thanks for elaborating……smh. earlier that day, he and i were out to eat. while waiting on our table, i mentioned to him that we should open an eating joint and i would require all the waitresses to dress in 1800’s fashion. i think it would be fun! he said, ‘good luck trying to find anyone to fill the positions.’ frowning, i nodded my understanding, but high hopes it would work out! gotta stay positive right.

anywho, to be honest, he’d fit into that time period, as would I, lol.

in all truthfulness, though, we’ve been watching a lot of period pieces on the roku stick thingy for the last couple weeks. this has been our go-to genre in the evenings after the kiddos are in bed.

clint eastwood a few times in the past week already. and then i found a new series based in texas during the 1800’s with a strong female lead…this is always fun.

and of course, i am waiting patiently for the new season of Outlander, this is one of my favorite series. let’s not forget about the new season of Yellowstone which is coming in November!

well, alrighty then….i will see yall back here soon! next post: movies/series we’ve enjoyed…..
