Movies/Series the Hubby and I Have Enjoyed
After a long day of working and then coming home to the kiddos for the evening/night time routine, my husband and I sit down to enjoy a movie or favorite series (we’ve gone through many of these) while we unwind from the demands of the day.

This unwinding happens more in the winter months than the summer because, in the north, winter evenings come quite early so any outdoor chores are done pretty early as well. Snuggling in for a good movie/tv series is a great way to end the evening.
First comes the some of the tv series that we have enjoyed. These are in no particular order. I listed them as I remembered them. Side note: I lose interest in the series if any of my favorites get taken off the show for whatever reason.
- When Calls the Heart – One day, some years ago, my hubby surprised me with a single DVD of a romantic tv series titled “When Calls the Heart.” Being a hopeless romantic, I feel in love with the series and promptly ended up purchasing the other DVD’s in the series that I did not have. And yes, every season before and after the one episode he purchased on the single DVD. He and I enjoyed that series up to the last episode of season 9. Still waiting for a new season. The whole family ended up enjoying this series! When Jack died, I was disheartened, but continued watching. When the actress who played Abigail got into the college scandal mess and went off the show, I lost interest only watching when I couldn’t find anything else to watch.
- Virgin River – This one I stumbled upon just flipping through the Prime listings. We’ve seen all the seasons available. Currently, still waiting for the new season.
- Yellowstone – this probably has to be one of my favorites. But, it’s hard to say because they are all my favorites, lol.
- Outlander – Okay, maybe this one is my favorite, lol. This one was iffy for me. We had recently finished a series and looking for a new one. I had skipped over it many times, but one evening my hubby decided we should try it. I was skeptical, but I FELL IN LOVE with it! Binge-watched every episode we had missed and impatiently waited for new seasons to come out….still waiting impatiently for the next season!
- Heartland – Another started in the middle of a season so we had to binge-watch from season 1. Wasn’t to keen on all of Lou’s issues, but continued watching because of Ty and Amy. Lost interest after Ty died.
- Longmire – this was one that my hubby enjoyed. Again, started after the first episode so I had to go back to watch all that we missed. I can’t remember the last season we watched. I haven’t seen any new ones since though.
- Wheel of Time – This was started on the first episode and watched through the last of season 1. Haven’t seen another seen surface yet.
- 1883 – You probably know it’s a continuation of sorts of the series Yellowstone. Watched from episode 1 to the last episode. When the girls dies, I was little sad. Not sure if we will watch when or if there’s another season.
- Joe Pickett – we enjoyed this one. There’s been only one season and we watched all episodes. Hoping for another season soon.
- The Good Wife – When this first aired, I was super excited to watch. I can’t remember how many season’s we watched, but for whatever reason, we stopped watching.
- Reign – This one was okay. When I found it, we watched all episodes that we available. It was awhile back so I can’t remember how many seasons it was.
- Chicago Fire – another one of my favs. Watched every episode on the day it aired. still watch, but I can’t remember how many seasons there are.
As previously stated, I tend to lose interest in a series when/if any of my favorites get taken off the show. At that point, it’s just not the same. Probably silly, but ah well, it is what it is, lol.
