30 Days of Grateful

Today is Monday so you will get Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday gratefuls!
For last weeks’ Friday, I am grateful for:
Not Running out of Gas!
So last Friday, I was on E and had to get to town for work and drop the kiddos off to school. It had been a stressful week anyway so Friday, we were walking on eggshells. I prayed all the way into town that I would make it and not run out of gas. As we entered the city limits, my daughter said, ‘mom, the turn to the school.’ I said, ‘don’t even say anything. we need gas or we are all gonna be walking!’
By the skin of my brow, we made it to the gas station! I am grateful we weren’t walking or stranded. My girlies were pretty grateful, too.
For Saturday, I am grateful for:
Good Friends
My hubby was out of town all week and I WAS NOT happy about it. I enjoy being with my girlies, but sometimes, y’all, momma just needs a break. When daddy’s not home, momma doesn’t get a break. A few weeks back, I met a lady who’s husband works with my oldest son. Right off the bat, she wouldn’t let me walk away from being her friend. And I am so glad I didn’t. She’s a very sweet person. She’s lively and fun, but she has a serious side as well. We get along great as we seem to share similar passions and similar situations in our lives. I am truly grateful for her friendship.
For Sunday, I am grateful for
My Husband’s Return
I grew up with a truck driver for a father. I love him dearly, but he was gone so much and we got used to it just being my mom and us three sisters in those younger years. When I grew up and married my hubby, I mentioned (multiple times) how I didn’t want him to be on the road for work. In those first months after marriage (due to the expense), he went to work in Wyoming and we only seen him about of handful of times until he came home. He was gone about 6 months. After that work period, he worked for the same company, but in the same state we live. He was able to be home Saturday evenings through pre-dawn Monday morning. He did that for a couple of years. And finally, for the same company, he worked only about 80 miles (give or take) from home so he commuted every day. That was a blessing! And now, he’s no longer with that company, so his trips out of town are a handful a year for a few nights depending on where he has to travel, all but one place in the state….that one place gets him into Canada. Anywho, I hate even these small work trips. I have no defense for it. I have no excuse for it. I truly just love having him home. This week, as mentioned earlier, he was gone. On Sunday evening, he finally got back home. My heart is at peace again.
For Monday (today), I am grateful for:
Heat!
Sadly, winter is upon us. Snow. Cold. Ice. And more of each! Camper living (as we are currently doing) can be quite chilly (okay, A LOT chilly!) and I am oh-so-grateful for our little propane heaters. They are small, but they are mighty. And they keep us just toasty enough. Grateful for heat!
What are you grateful for today?
I can’t wait to find out so start sending those messages! And I will chat with y’all again tomorrow!
