Trying the Setting Goals Mindset
So, yesterday and today, I was at the vendor show hence why I wasn’t able to post anything. By the time I get home in the evenings, I am just ready to relax with my hubby and kiddos. I decided to get a table at these vendors shows because I am trying to make a more self-sustaining lifestyle for our family. I’m not sure if it’s working and it’s always a work in progress, but every new self-reliant thing I can do for our family is well worth it. Hopefully, everyone will jump on board with me, lol.
Annywho, beginning in the new year, I would like to initiate some goals for myself to accomplish in the year 2023. I’ve never been one who could stay focused on goals. Over the course of adulthood, I have set many goals for myself, but my mind just doesn’t seem to work in such order. I tend to be a little scatterbrained, overly anxious, and probably a bit neurotic. Hmm, not sure I like the sound of that, but there it is. But, moving along, one goal I am pretty certain I can accomplish is a books to read list. I love to read so this should be simple. Right? Hmmm, one would think so, but then I get to my next point. Not only do I want to create a books to read list for 2023, but I also want to challenge myself to read something outside of the romance novels I typically read! I’d like to expand my reading list to include some different genres. I want to read more how-to books, DIY, and such. So far, over the last month, I’ve read Beekeeping for Beginners, How To Raise Goats, Raising Minaiture Horses and a selection of different books on soap-making, and other DIY projects so I think I’m doing pretty well. But to further my reading goal, here’s my 2023 Book List:

- and a Book of the Month club that I’m in. It started in October 2022. This BOM is certainly of the romance variety, and it’s called Love Finds You in __________(a different location in the US and may be written by a different author). I have received two books thus far: Love Finds You in Romeo Colorado by Gwen Ford Faulkenberry and Love Finds You in Branson, Missouri by Gwen Ford Faulkenberry. I have yet to start reading either of these books and it’s quite possible that I may not begin them until the new year. We shall see.
And there you have it: the first goal in my quest to hold myself to the goals I set. I will keep you posted.
Do you have any goals set for yourself? Short term? Long term? If so, would you like to share them?
As always, friends, thanks for reading.
See y’all back here tomorrow!
