If Shannon Starts a Task
(to the tune of If You Give a Mouse a Cookie)
If Shannon starts a task (binding a quilt) – she will get interrupted by a phone call.

When Shannon answers the phone call, she addresses the issue of the phone call. The phone call ends.
When she ends the phone call and she hangs up the phone, she notices the water jug is just about empty.
When she notices the water jug is just about empty, she realizes she should probably check if her plants need watering.
When she checks if her plants need watering, she notices the incomplete table runner that she needs to finish binding.
When she gets to the sewing machine to finish binding, she remembers a blog post she needs to post. Meanwhile, a customer enters the shop.
When the customer enters the shop, she helps customer leave a happy camper.
When customer leaves a happy camper, she remembers the binding. When binding is almost complete, another customer and her boss enter the shop. The machine she’s using is going home with customer.
When customer leaves with the machine she was using to bind her small quilt, she remembers she still hasn’t watered her plants.
In remembering she hasn’t watered her plants, she gets lost in thought.
When she gets lost in thought, her mind wanders to Christmas lists.
When her mind wanders to Christmas lists, she thinks of everything she has yet to accomplish before Christmas.
When she thinks of everything she has to accomplish before Christmas (4/5 table runners, gift shopping for adult children, gift shopping for small children, gift shopping for husband, cleaning out van for the upcoming Christmas trip, pack for upcoming Christmas trip, cleaning and laundry before upcoming Christmas trip, etc), she begins to feel overwhelmed.
When she begins to feel overwhelmed, she’s thinking she needs a stiff drink.
When she’s thinking she needs a stiff drink, she remembers the binding isn’t done and the plants didn’t get watered.
And this is what happens when Shannon answers a phone call.
Haha!
