Random Musings of One Tired Momma
I recently ran across a friend on FB who is doing a 100 day project. And this got me to thinking that maybe, just maybe, this is something for me.
So, I have decided to do the 100 day project, or more accurately for me, a 100 day challenge. #100dayproject

Oh, where to start!?!
So, I have a wedding in August…..a very important wedding. My oldest son is getting married! And I want to look spectacular! Okay, I want the bride to look spectacular and she will! And my son will be dashing.
But, in January, I decided I wanted to lose weight so I would feel more comfortable in my own skin. I am not brave enough to say what my weight is, but just know, I am not happy with it. And, my son’s upcoming marriage is the perfect motivator to make me not only want to lose weight, but also to actually stick with it until I accomplish it.
Yes, accomplish!
Over the last 20 years, I’ve played with this diet or that, but I’ve never really stuck with anything and I never focused on actually making changes that would help me succeed.
So, why now?
Remember, in January, I decided I wanted to lose weight. And guess what I stumbled across in January! A cryo-slimming advertisement in my area. What the heck is cryo slimming? I had to call and find out. So I did.
After the conversation, I was very intrigued. And I decided, well heck, I will try it! So, I made an appointment and went to my first session. Using something similar to an ultrasound wand, the cryo tech (I guess is a good name), manipulates the wand across whatever part of the body you want slimmed. In this case, it’s my tummy. One side first and then the other side for an allotted amount of time on each side. It’s basically freezing the fat cells off which are then eliminated from your body through body waste. It’s actually very relaxing!
Anywho, it can be done every two weeks for a specified amount of time given by the cryo tech. The best part….you see results at the conclusion of the first session and each session thereafter! At the conclusion of my first session, I lost almost 1″!
Yes, I’m sold! I made the recommended amount of appointments and I just concluded with my 3rd session on Friday. Three inches down and counting as I have a few more sessions remaining.
But, that’s not all! I reconnected with a friend from highschool on FB recently and he decided he was going to give it a try as well. But, his isn’t my story to share. My point here is that we can now share our results and keep one another accountable for the changes we need to make so that the changes stick and we don’t give up! I have been eating less, have in the process of cutting sugars and breads from my diet. Soda was my BEST friend that had to go! Very slowly, I am making diet changes to go along with my hope-to-be physical changes.
So, remember, today I ran across the 100 day project! My school age girls and I decided we are going to do this 100 Day Project, but more aptly, we will be doing a 100 Day Exercise Challenge. Now, for all your exercise gurus out there, remember, I am just starting.
Anywho, here’s our list of exercises. They may seem small and easy, but when you are as out of shape as I am, they aren’t so small and easy:
- Flamingoes (something my daughters made up)
- sit-ups
- push-ups
- mountain climbers
- knee lifts
- weight/arm lifts
- jumping jacks
- laps around the circle (our yard) or jog in place
- lunges
- squats
- burpees
- leg lefts
- plank
- prayer hold (relaxation)
The plan is to do these for 100 days starting with 10-count/10 seconds, upping by 10 every 10 days.
Does this seem realistic? Well, in my younger years, I was the typical, rebellious ‘tell-me-I-can’t and I-show-you-I-will’ teenager. As I grew older, that mentality changed. Call it what you will, but I’m just not like that anymore. However, this challenge has renewed that mentality for me!
I hope you join me on this 100 day renewing journey to get more healthy! I am sure looking forward to the quality time with my girls for this challenge. Check back often because I plan to keep you updated on my progress by posting my successes and failures along with my daily diet intake. I am excited!
And please, post comments, questions, and cheer-me-on’s! Heck, you can even post disbelief if you’d like! I will definitely need the boost!
As always, be happy my friends. Life is short!
