When the Hurricane Helene hit NC, TN, FL, GA, and SC end of September/early October of 2024, the area was completely devastated. The hardest hit area was western North Carolina, dubbed WNC in the wake of Helene. Rumor has it, Chimney Rock, NC fared the worst. Rumor also has it that Kamala Harris’s husband has interest in the lithium mines  in Chimney Rock and whole storm was engineered because the people were fighting against the lithium being mined. Again, rumor right now.

I do not live in that area at all, not even close, but I followed people on TikTok who were right in the middle of it all.. The more I watched the videos and photos streaming in, the more gut-wrenching it felt for me…an outsider, completely unaffected by the utter chaos. The people in those areas lost everything…..their homes, their livelihoods, their animals, their belongings. But that wasn’t enough, many were stuck in their area with no food, no shelter. People were missing, being found deceased, bodies in trees, buried under debris, and floating in the river.

I felt in my heart that I needed to do something, contribute in some way. The story is that FEMA wasn’t helping these disaster-stricken folks. Such a hatred for the American government that election year and when Hurricane Helene happened and government refused to help these areas, hatred for the American government intensified, tenfold.
