Random Musings of One Tired Momma
As a child, my family bounced in and out of church along with a couple of different religions. My understanding of faith and religion was very limited. However, I converted to Catholic twelve years ago. Through reading scripture, learning about the saints, RCIA classes, attending Mass, and studying other Catholic materials, I have worked hard, sporadically, to understand my faith. I say sporadically because I’ve been in church for periods of time, and I’ve been out of church for periods of time. The studying comes in spurts as well. I have faith in our savior, but I’ve questioned it quite frequently over the years.
As a woman, wife, and mother, I don’t claim to be a scholar or an expert in any field. What I seek is a deeper understanding of my relationship with God and His purpose for my life. I often find myself pondering what He desires from me and what I should give in return. I yearn to discern whether I am living according to His will or merely following my own path. Life presents many challenges, and I wrestle with these questions, waiting for a moment of clarity and understanding to dawn upon me.
Recently, after reading the book God’s Will, I found myself pondering the concept of God’s will more deeply. Despite the title, I was quite confused by its choice, as it didn’t seem entirely fitting with the book’s content. However, it was still an engaging read. Without giving away too many details, the story follows a teenage boy sent to a school for troubled youth. The school, known for its unconventional methods, aims to turn the lives of these individuals around. As the narrative is based on true events, it sheds light on the existence of such institutions. The effectiveness of these schools is something I continue to question, even though the story itself was compelling.
Anyway, what are you reading of late? If you get a chance, do read the book and let me know what you think!
