Do I have to?

Our oldest daughter recently told my husband that the toilet was making noise when nobody was using it. His response, ‘Good. When I come inside, you and I are going to look at it together.’ She wasn’t too keen on the idea and said as much. She said she had more important things to do, such as reading her book. Shaking his head, he said, ‘so, when you grow up and living on your own, you’re just going to pay a huge water bill rather than fix the small problem yourself?’ Her response, ‘Yep, i’m going to pay you!’

She smirked at his look, and I just started laughing. Come on now, it was the perfect response! He just looked at me, perplexed at first, but then his looked turned to amusement. He just can’t seem to win with these girls around here!

Ahh, guess dad is the boss. This young lady learned a little about how the toilet works. Now, she should be able to stop the water from running in the toilet, ha!

Man, growing up is no fun!
