Our Family’s “Twin-credible” Story

They say things come in threes, but in our family, they come in three sets of two!

As we celebrate International Twins Day, I’ve been looking back at the beautiful, symmetry-filled life I’ve been blessed to lead. Most people think having one set of twins in a family is a rarity, but for us, it’s just the way we roll. We aren’t just double-blessed; we are officially triple-blessed.

It Started With My Nieces

The twin journey actually began with my sweet nieces. They were the first ones to show me the unique magic of “double joy.” Getting to babysit them in their younger years and watching that unbreakable bond grow as they turned into incredible women was such a gift. Little did I know, they were just the first chapter in my life-long story of seeing double!

The Middle Chapter: My Boys

Then came the wild, wonderful adventure of raising my twin boys. Any “Twin Mom” will tell you that the early years are a blur of caffeine and chaos, but there is nothing quite like watching two brothers navigate the world as a built-in team. They were my heart multiplied by two, and I thought that was where the “twin theme” of my life might reach its peak.

The Perfect Match: My Daughters-in-Law

God, however, had a sense of humor and a beautiful plan that was far more creative than mine. In a “wink from Heaven” moment that still makes me smile, both of my boys fell in love with and married twin girls! Watching my sons find their perfect matches in another set of twins felt like the missing pieces of a puzzle finally clicking into place. There is a specific kind of understanding and “twin-language” that only those born in pairs truly get, and seeing that shared between my sons and my daughters-in-law is a rare and beautiful thing to witness.

A Legacy of Doubles

From the days of babysitting my nieces to the weddings of my sons, our family photos have always looked a little different than most—and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Being surrounded by these three sets of twins has taught me that when God wants to pour out a blessing, He doesn’t always stop at one. To my nieces, my boys, and my daughters-in-law: you make life twice as fun and three times as beautiful.
