I Asked for……and God……

I Asked for… and God…

I asked God for strength,
and He gave me difficulties that made me strong.

I asked for wisdom,
and God gave me problems to solve instead of easy answers.

I asked for courage,
and God placed dangers in my path that required me to move forward afraid.

I asked for patience,
and God gave me situations where waiting was not optional.

I asked for love,
and God brought troubled people into my life who needed it more than I did.

I asked for favor,
and God opened doors called opportunity—some disguised as risk.

I asked for everything,
and God gave me life itself, so I could learn to enjoy everything.

I asked for humility,
and God allowed circumstances where I had to depend on others instead of myself.

I asked for faith,
and God gave me uncertainty—trust without seeing the whole path.

I asked for perseverance,
and God led me down long roads with no quick relief.

I asked for discernment,
and God answered with silence, where clarity did not come easily.

I asked for gratitude,
and God gave me seasons of less that revealed what I already had.

I asked for compassion,
and God allowed shared suffering that taught me understanding before speaking.

I asked for obedience,
and God gave me instructions that stretched my comfort.

I asked for surrender,
and God closed doors that loosened my grip.

I asked for hope,
and God allowed darkness long enough to show me the value of light.

I asked for contentment,
and God gave me enough—but not everything.

I asked for endurance,
and God gave me trials that lasted longer than I expected.

I asked for forgiveness,
and God gave me wounds that required grace instead of revenge.

I asked for trust in timing,
and God gave me waiting that proved delay is not denial.

I asked for identity,
and God removed titles so I could remember who I am.

I asked for joy,
and God gave me moments of sorrow and laughter—teaching me that joy is a choice, not a condition.

In the end, I realized this truth:

I received nothing I wanted, but everything I needed.
