My daughter made her first batch of homemade cinnamon rolls today, yeast and all, and this mama is pretty darn proud.

I have to admit, I was especially impressed because every single time I have tried to use yeast, it has never worked for me. I can follow the recipe, do what I’m supposed to do, and somehow that yeast just refuses to cooperate. But she gave it a try and ended up with a whole pan of beautiful, homemade cinnamon rolls. And they actually taste as good as they look!
She has always loved being in the kitchen. There is almost always something baking around here, and she genuinely enjoys trying new recipes and making things from scratch. She has a natural interest in it that I love watching grow. She also has big dreams for that little kitchen of hers. She wants to own a bakery when she grows up.I love that.
There is something special about watching your kids discover something they truly enjoy and then imagining where it could take them someday. Maybe today it’s cinnamon rolls on our kitchen counter, but someday it could be a bakery with her name on the door. And if that happens, I’ll be able to say I remember when she was just a kid in our kitchen, covered in flour and figuring out yeast for the first time.
Although I may have to remind her that her mama gets free cinnamon rolls for life. That’s just part of the deal. 😂❤️
For now, I’m going to enjoy watching her learn, create, and chase that little bakery dream one batch at a time. And I’m definitely enjoying the cinnamon rolls along the way!
